    E.Y Berry Library’s 40th Anniversary

    One may not be able to tell by looking at it but this year the Black Hill State University library, the E. Y Berry Library, is turning the big 4-0. As they celebrate their anniversary this year, we look back at the library’s impressive history. With National Library week beginning on April 14 makes this an opportune time to celebrate an occasion such as this.

    Just outside the Ruddell gallery at 3 p.m. on Friday, April 5, the refreshment table had been picked clean. It was the opening of the 2013 Senior Art Show and the little gallery was packed. Every available space had been filled with the works of 16 art and art education majors.

  • BHSU Theatre Student Directs “I Hate Hamlet” for Graduation Requirement

    “To be, or not to be: that is the question” or is it? In Paul Rudnick’s 1991 comedy “I Hate Hamlet,” the story line isn’t your typical Shakespearean performance. The play follows successful television actor Andrew Rally as he struggles with taking on the dream role of Hamlet, dealing with a girlfriend who is keeping a firm grip on her chastity, and playing host to the ghost of John Barrymore, who clothed as Hamlet, has come back to earth for the sole purpose of convincing Rally to play the part.

NRA Insists Armed Staff will Provide Protection in the Classroom

The National Rifle Association has formed a plan to stop mass school shootings in the wake of the murder of 26 first graders and teachers in Newtown, Connecticut last December. This plan, known as the “National School Shield,” insists that every school in America should be provided with the constant protection of armed guards, security cameras, perimeter fencing, and even allowing teachers to carry concealed weapons. In other words, the idea is to turn public schools into prisons.
